There’s so much to think about; where do I start? Do I need an LLC? Do I need a lawyer? What about financing, partners, suppliers, start-up costs, software, etc.? Where do I get a logo or sign and how do I get my customers? What about licensing? The thought of starting a business can be a scary one especially when compared to the financial security of a job.

But, how secure is your job?  If you lost your job tomorrow, how long could you survive?  How long could you provide for your family?  How long could you pay your rent or mortgage before being evicted or foreclosed on?  Would you be able to keep the car or would it get repossessed?

Now what if I told you that it doesn’t matter if you’re the employee or the business owner, your odds of lost income remain about the same over time.  Likewise, finding a new job or starting another business to replace that income also remains about the same. The biggest difference is that the business owner has direct control over their income and the employee has secondary control over theirs.
